2019 Format Announcement

 

As the racing season starts to heat up, at least in terms of on the track action, we are gearing up for another great year of the FANS Fund program.  This year looks to be another great year for the FANS Fund team after a great couple of weeks gaining funds and exposure.  As with all prior years the funds will be used to help offset the travel costs of ten to twelve drivers who make their way to Cedar Lake Speedway the first week in August.

This year we will be sticking with the core purpose of the FANS Fund, which is to bring new drivers to the USA Nationals in hopes that they will love the race and facility so much that they will continue to come back year after year.  This year we hope to invite seven to nine drivers in this category, which is majority of the invited drivers.   It is important to have these drivers, both young and old, come to the facility because every new driver creates more exposure for one of the best races in late model racing every year.

The next category of drivers that will receive an invite from the FANS Fund are the drivers who have been coming to Cedar Lake Speedway for many years, which will be referred to as the All-Stars.  In the past the All-Stars have consisted of only drivers who had previously been part of the FANS Fund program, with long time supporting drivers being known as Legends.  This group was adjusted to combine the two groups to give the fans a greater impact on the votes, ultimately deciding who will be invited.  Because of the adjustment we are planning to invite three to four drivers from all past competitors.  This will make voting for your favorite All-Star very important if you want to see them be part of the FANS Fund dash and luncheon.

The last category of drivers who can receive votes include those drivers who compete full time with the World of Outlaws.  This is the new category this year and will come with the smallest amount of drivers receiving an invite from the FANS Fund, as there will only be ONE driver included.  This category was added because more and more of the full time drivers have expressed interest in being part of the FANS Fund.  This should be considered a complement to the fans and sponsors of the event because those individuals have made it a sought after prize.

The drivers who have already expressed interest to the FANS Fund have been added to the interest drivers page and will be adjusted right up until the deadline for voting ends.  That means if you are a driver or want to see a driver be part of the FANS Fund you need to let us know.  We would be happy to add names to this list so the fans know you want to be included, all we ask is that we receive a conformation from the driver and receive contact information to be included on the page.  We will gladly accept votes for any driver, so vote for whom you want to see, but without contact information we cannot send a formal invite.

If you want to place your votes it can be done online or at the race tracks that we will be in attendance until the voting ends.  We will try to keep everyone posted, but the easiest place to find us would be at Cedar Lake Speedway.  If we are not working the track someone can normally be found at Booth 32 on the front stretch.  As with previous years the votes are $5 each and can be placed towards any driver in any category.   If you would like to be included in the luncheon a total of six votes ($30) will give you an automatic invite.  When you place six votes it is important to remember that you can place all six votes against six different drivers or put them all towards one must have driver.

When six votes ($30) are given you will also receive an invite to the popular FANS Fund Luncheon and a t-shirt designed by sponsor Joe Provo Raceware.   The luncheon will again be held on the Saturday of the USA Nationals and be filled a ton a great prizes given out by our sponsors and participating drivers.  Most importantly you will be in a room full of other people that want to help the sport that we all love, dirt late model racing!

This year will be the twelfth year of the FANS Fund and it would not be possible with all of the fans that put the fan in FANS Fund.  However, as will all aspects of racing, it would not be possible without great sponsorship support.  This year we are welcoming back many of our returning sponsors and ask that everyone support them in any way possible.   If you have interest in adding your company as a sponsor of the FANS Fund please contact us with the below information or at the track for more information!
