Georgia Driver Set To Make First Appearance At Cedar Lake Speedway
FARMINGTON, Minn. (July 25, 2011) Chip Brindle from Chatsworth, GA and his Bryson Motorsports team have confirmed that they will indeed be making the trip to Wisconsin for the USA Nationals presented by U. S. Steel. Details for the trip for the young twenty-five year old driver began late last week and were confirmed today with car owner Norman Bryson. The team will make the 1,050 mile one-way journey to “Wisconsin’s Fastest Piece of Real Estate” and compete for the first time ever at the historic 3/8’s mile oval.
The opportunity came about when the Mike Marlar and the Andy Stebbins Motorsports team emailed and said that they would not be able to race at Cedar Lake Speedway and be part of the 2011 FANS Fund. Both Marlar and Stebbins commented in an email that the team is “currently having some motor issues and the transition from running with Wells Racing Team to going back to owning his own race team mid-season has also been a slight set-back.” The team hopes that over the coming weeks they can resolve some key issues and finish out the season on a strong note. While situation is unfortunate as fans were excited to see someone of Marlar’s caliber be part of the FANS Fund and race in the USA Nationals, it is understandable that the team needs to focus its efforts on addressing its concerns.
With Marlar unable to attend the USA Nationals weekend, Chip Brindle is the next highest vote recipient to accept the invitation to Cedar Lake Speedway and be part of the 2011 FANS Fund. Brindle drives a Barry Wright Race Car and quite often travels with Barry’s race team to events. Car owner Bryson sited that the team is excited to be making its first trip to Cedar Lake and is confident his team will work closely with Barry and Lance Wright along with their driver Jonathan Davenport to ensure Brindle will have good notes for a baseline set-up for Cedar Lake.
Brindle made headlines earlier this year when in his first Dirt Late Model Crown Jewel event won his heat race as started from the pole position for this year’s Show Me 100. In the final rundown he finished eleventh in the event and received significant air-time on national television when the event was aired on CBS Television.
